Business With Principles

This week I learned interesting things. I refreshed the concept of the 7 habits. The original book is The 7 Habits of High Effective People. I read a summary of it, but I have read The 7 Habits of High Effective Teenagers some years ago. This book helped me a lot. It has the same principles but stated in a funnier way.  It is great to refresh them. The first and for me the most important of the principles or habits is being proactive, which is I think the foundation of everything, because our will power can make us do anything we want and achieve any goal we set. I pondered a lot from a speech by Gordon B Hinckley. He taught about being true to our faith, our God and our parents. It also reminded me that life is not just to be endured, but also to be enjoyed. I learned about seeking for passion instead of money. That the best mindset is to want to change the world instead of just want lot of money. In that case we can find a way to change the world and the money will come. S...

The power of Mentors.

This was an interesting week. I learned the importance of self-mastery, what is needed to jump in the entrepreneurial field, how to choose good companions and the great importance of having mentors. What resumes all the importance of self-discipline is the phrase  " nature never pays an unearned account and she never fails to pay one that has been earned." This means that any goal that you want to achieve or any blessing you want to receive requires an effort in exchange.  I learned that there are three important aspects to have in mind for being an entrepreneur. The first one is industrial knowledge,  which  means to have experience in certain industry and also have contacts. Second, have skills to run a company in daily basis.  Third , the  ability  to raise money. Those three aspects are listed in order of importance. So I know what to focus on for preparation. Every journey we can take, will be a better experience if we are not alon...

The Formula

Imagen
This was an amazing week. I learned a lot of useful things. My favorite was the formula of success. I learned some stuff in the past about personal money management, how to be financially free, tips for success, etc. But the formula embraces everything. It is very Complete. The formula is: Wake up early. Work Hard Get your Education Find your oil Make your Mark Get prepared to be of service. Something interesting about the first step is that there is no successful person that is not an early riser. I was trying to do this, but I think I need to get better at doing it every day including weekends. Education comes in different ways. Formal education and informal education. I think now I am getting the advantage of formal education, but I must not neglect what I can learn in my free time from mentors, books and other sources. I liked to learn about how to know what my passion is. I like the concept of optimizing instead of just choosing between good and wrong o...

The Personal Constitution

Imagen
At this point of this week, there was an activity that stood out. I crafted a personal constitution. It was an assignment, but I needed to follow the guidelines of the book The Ministry of Business. So I will need to review and improve it in a few weeks. It was an exercise for the soul, because I needed to ponder what my core values are, what is more important to me. I also thought about the people that I admire and why they could be my role models. After identifying my values, I needed to set up long term goals and short term goals. It is interesting. An insight that I had is that countries has their own constitutions. It is the foundation of everyday dealings in those countries. The impact of those constitutions is huge in the long run. The United States has never changed its constitution. Pakistan had many constitutions in its short life. I think that it is the same with individuals. Their results are hand in hand with their personal constitution, even if they do not have one. W...
