The Personal Constitution

At this point of this week, there was an activity that stood out. I crafted a personal constitution. It was an assignment, but I needed to follow the guidelines of the book The Ministry of Business. So I will need to review and improve it in a few weeks. It was an exercise for the soul, because I needed to ponder what my core values are, what is more important to me. I also thought about the people that I admire and why they could be my role models. After identifying my values, I needed to set up long term goals and short term goals. It is interesting. An insight that I had is that countries has their own constitutions. It is the foundation of everyday dealings in those countries. The impact of those constitutions is huge in the long run. The United States has never changed its constitution. Pakistan had many constitutions in its short life. I think that it is the same with individuals. Their results are hand in hand with their personal constitution, even if they do not have one. Which means that there are not priorities governing their lives.

It is interesting that along with the personal constitution, there was a reading about personal transformation. You must keep your essence, but transform in a way that you can bring out your best version as a person. For me all of this is in hand with introspection and discipline. It’s about examine yourself, see what you are now and then focus on who you want to become. Set goals and a plan of action. Focus not only on you, but on the ones that surround you. Those are things that people normally do not practice nowadays. I think that is why being a principle centered entrepreneur is hard and it is not for everyone. I am willing to follow the path. I prefer to go for great victories and if I fail, fail great. I do not want to be a cold and timid soul.
