Gain your soul before the world

This week was centered in something very important in business, I would say in something ultimately more important than business. It is about integrity, about honesty. I loved the passage in the scriptures that was also stated 2 times in the readings of this week. It says “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?”. When we lose sight in what is the most important, then every other aspect in life lose meaning. That is why we must just not have a star, but also set guardrails, limits that we set as a warning that we are playing in the edge and that we must recover the safe track.

So, there are some “I will not” that we must state now and that keep us safe. I need to work on this list this week.

Something great was to read about the importance of covenants. It is great to have books of authors that have experience in business but also who have a vision of the eternity and that can teach you from a point of view not is hard to find in the world. I learned that I need to make covenants to God. We know that as members of the church. But I think I can make specific actions to keep better the covenants that I have already taken and to make in prayer some other specific promises and act. As I was thinking on this topic, I thought that we have a great opportunity at sacrament meeting to take the sacrament and renew our covenants and our willing to do the right. This is not just a renewal in spiritual matter, but we can also be renewed about our business ethics.
